Meet Kendal

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Owner of Metamorphosis Therapeutic Counseling, LLC

When I was around 10 years old, I remember having a very difficult time due to my parents divorce. I felt alone, misunderstood, and even hopeless at times. Thankfully, I was able to receive counseling from a wonderful lady who was a licensed marriage and family therapist. She was and still is my inspiration to help others in the same way she helped me. I wanted to learn the skills I needed to better myself and assist other people on their journey of healing and self-discovery.

I hold a Master's Degree in Family Therapy and have experience ranging from addiction rehabilitation, school counseling, crisis intervention, in-home community based treatment, and outpatient services.

I believe in a collaborative and strength based approach to therapy. I work WITH my clients to pin point the strengths and resources they are using or have used in the past that assisted them in getting where they want to be. I want my client’s to feel heard and to know that their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are valid even if not always helpful. I also believe that therapy is not a “one size fits all” situation, so I tailor my sessions with the appropriate therapeutic approach and techniques that could be the most beneficial.

I have experience helping my clients and families ranging from Parenting/Co-Parenting, improving communication and emotional regulation, bullying, self-esteem, trauma resolution, improving relationships, among other things.

If you identify with any of this, therapy can be a wonderful tool to start working towards finding solutions and working towards your goals.

Facts about Me:

  • I have 2 therapy dogs that are the cutest and funniest pups.  -- see above photos

  • I am a huge animal person and love just about every animal that I meet.

  • I enjoy being outdoors in nature whether it is hiking, kayaking, or just in the backyard.

  • Butterflies have always been an important symbol in my life. I was raised believing that when you saw a butterfly it meant a deceased loved one was thinking about you.

    • I also believe in the transformation process that can happen in therapy just like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly.
